About us
Debora Arango Perez School is a public institution, which has a Bilingual Education Model. It has a population of approximately 3000 students from preschool to high school. The school was founded in 2008 aimed to have a Bilingual Program. Therefore, during the last 12 years all school efforts, resources and human talent have been working towards the consolidation and strengthening of a Bilingual Program as well as the construction of an Institutional Language Policy with high standards of quality for our school that can offer better opportunities to all of our students.
Our curriculum is taught in two languages, English and Spanish, using the CLIL methodology for the Content areas that are taught through the second language and the Communicative Approach for English as a second language. Therefore, more than 50 % of the subjects are taught in L2: English, Science, Math, Physical Education and technology from 1st grade to eleventh grade. In that way, Students have 16 hours of language instruction and syllabi designed for each subject and grade based on the principles of taking into account Content, Communication, Culture and Cognition. Nowadays, we have constructed our own Language and Evaluation Policy.
