Intensive English Program
This course started this year in February as one of the innovative strategies to reinforce students` skills in the second language and to begin the consolidation of the B1 level. This is designed only for ninth graders who must take 6 hours of English in the opposite shift once per week each group. The syllabus for this course was planned based on the Suggested Curriculum for English proposed by the Ministry of National Education, making a combination of contents between ninth and tenth grade in order to establish a higher difficulty level and go deeper in the study of the topics proposed for these levels.
This course is a new component of the curriculum for the Bilingual Program focused on providing students with more opportunities to communicate using the second language through projects during the different lessons in the school year. Therefore, the students of this course are going to develop meaningful activities related to Ecology, Democracy, Technology, Globalization among others supported by the ICT`s which let them interact in real contexts.
To sum up, these students are going to be more exposed to the second language, having the chance to practice and improve their communication skills(speaking, listening, reading, writing) while having fun and carrying our projects which can impact their lives and the school environment.
